That would actually be my recommendation, but for Chris' hope that it 
will lead to more work from the company. Although if being contacted 
three weeks before the deadline is going to be SOP for this company, 
more work from them might not be such a desirable thing.

Normally, an estimate for a short time project wouldn't be a big issue; 
just take all the tasks for a normal project and cram the same hours 
into a smaller time period. Except that Chris hasn't done an estimate 
before.
