I use the following site to weed out the IANA (Internet Assigned Number
Authority) registered port numbers from those that are potentially the
result of a hacker/virus attempting to gain unauthorized access to a system:
http://www.iana.org/assignments/port-numbers
They list all the port numbers that would likely be used by any legit
software/user, and update the site very frequently, but the one you inquire
about is not listed; therefore, if 14408 is popping, I can only assume
there's a rogue user/virus attempting to find open ports.
