Ditto. We own the cable and telephone here on campus...if students want to
use a dial-up they are welcome to do that.  We are having satisfaction
problems here too.  Our ResNet is not yet 4 years old, we've had 3 bandwidth
upgrades and still need more.  Currently we have 7 T1s and Internet2. We
have a Packeteer, and used Netenforcer to shape bandwidth before that.
We've been waiting on an upgrade that was supposed to happen last summer
that would take us to 24 mbps. It's been delayed over political wrangling
between the state and the university system.  In the meantime, they are
killin' me.

Guess I just needed to get that off my chest.  Given the above, don't you
think my signoff is, shall we say, ironic?

On our campus, it would be impossible for them to physically get that
hookup.  You're not going to see the local cable company pulling wires onto
our campus.  Same with the phone company and DSL lines.

These services are not provided to the dorms by the local utility companies.
