Further, did you check to see which MAC address is showing up switch side?
If it's showing up as some unregistered MAC every time, that could point
to some sort of bridge or miniport driver.
We've seen a problem where the XP machine had a 'network bridge' installed
(similar to that WAN miniport driver that Dell puts on, I guess) that
feeds our switches a different MAC address than the one the resident
registered, and it would prevent the user from obtaining a lease until we
disabled the bridge. However, one thing to note is that the network
bridge gave our switches the same MAC every time -- it just wasn't the one
the resident registered.
