I found this interesting software that has the ability to account printing
based on more than just the number of pages used.
"printbill is a neat solution to this which allows you to charge both on a
per-page and a per-toner basis. The advantage is that it is inherently fair
- it will charge the user what it actually costs to print their job. The
downside is is quite a bit slower than a simpler per-page charging regime"
It can also do accounting for printing to multiple computers from one
workstation as well as different charging for color and black and white
printers. Just thought you all might find it interesting.
