I have all my ssh/e-terms/login shells set for green text on black background...while others on this list swear by black on white *coughCurtiscough*, I've found that to be far and away my most preferable scheme for the last 4 years or so.

This is off-topic, but my lovely colleague Ethan and I were wondering
whether there is any ergonomically recommended background and text
color combination for monitors? Is the default black text on white
background the most suitable for reading through text for hours, or
is there a preferred alternative?
