		*** 24-hour Internet Access at Home ***

Are you interested in a 24-hour Internet connection at home? With full
unrestricted telnet, ftp, netnews, gopher, IRC, WAIS, Mosaic, or whatever.

If you are, New England Community Internet, has a proposal for you. Join
a NECI Community-POP (point of presence), shared by 16 other local users,
and share all access gosts equally between members of the group.

You have a permanent line to the Internet. You connect with any modem
you like (V.32, V.32bis, V.FAST, etc), and share a 56 Kbps line from your
POP to the NSP (network service provider). You talk SLIP or PPP to your
POP.

Interested? We, at NECI, have worked out initial costings, and are
looking for participants in the first Community-POP. So far, we have 7
interested parties for a POP in Boston. We need 10 more. We also need
13 more folks for another group in Worcester.

Costs are about $50 per month fixed. Flat rate. No matter how much you
use your line. Plus startup costs to purchase your POP equipment. For
full details of costs and the whole deal, get the complete proposal by
Gopher, FTP, or Netnews, from:

	Gopher:	gopher.opal.com/70 NECI/Community-POP Proposal
	FTP: ftp.opal.com /pub/neci/ip_proposal.txt

or, send email to:

	Rich Braun	<richb@pioneer.ci.net>
	Glenn Meader	<glenn.meader@bedford.progress.COM>
	David Kovar	<kovar@opal.com>
	J.R. Oldroyd	<jr@opal.com>

*** IF YOU'D LIKE TO PARTICIPATE IN YOUR OWN NECI COMMUNITY-POP ***

Send email to:
	Glenn Meader	<glenn.meader@bedford.progress.COM>
	J.R. Oldroyd	<jr@opal.com>

And....
*** come to the NECI meeting ***

An open meeting for anyone interested in participating will be held
on:
	Tuesday, November 30th, 6:30pm
at:
	MIT
	Room 212
Building 37 (on Vassar Street, Cambridge)

We want to try to get enough people to this meeting to see if we
can get the first POP up and running. The meeting is for folk
to get to hear the full proposal, and how it works, to get to
know each other, and to see if we have enough folk for the first POP.
