Duncan,
This very issue has motivated a development effort on the part of my
company and external contractors to develop a new network solution for
MDU's. We started out simply looking for a secure means of installing
internet access in apartments but quickly learned that the methods deployed
by others were lacking. I consider this an oversight at best and
irresponsible at worst. Hard to believe that this has not led to more
problems.
In any case, our new design should be available in March or April and will
have integrated routing, bandwidth management and security. Send e-mail
for more info.
