Sorry to bother everyone about this, I seem to recall it has been mentioned
already but...
We have a student who is running XP. Everytime he reboots his machine, his
MAC address changes by one digit (usually the first digit). He has a
Linksys 10/100 card and we have Cisco 10/100 autosensing switches. Cisco
wants to say it is a problem between the card and the switch. I want to see
what the Cisco tech is smokin' The problem is that with our auto-reg
system, he is forced to replace his old registration each time he reboots
onto the network AND after x number of MAC address changes the port shuts
off.
I can solve the port problems, I need to know if anyone has figured out why
XP does this and HOW to make it stop.
Thanks in advance to all. GO RAMS!!
Matt
