ILGs with clusters have local system packs accessible via RVD. In addition,
they have backup system packs through AFS servers located on-campus. I
don't believe that there will be any changes in this mode of operation.
If an ILG purchases brand-new Athena workstations, the machines will
attempt to get their system software via AFS over the 56Kb/s link. Since
this is very slow there is a team investigating potential modifications to
improve performance.
