At SUNY Oneonta, we're implementing wireless in several academic
buildings, but have not yet begun to implement it in the residence
halls. The implementation process is fairly swift, once the testing for
good signal access has been completed. As for the data transfer, it is
excellent, and thus far not included in the authentication process (it
is completely open as of now, as is the nature of these systems).

Subject: Wireless Card Access
Hello all,
I hope you all had a safe holiday season.
I am in search of some info regarding wireless card access.
UNH is in the process of constructing a couple of new buildings that
should
come online sometime in 03 / 04.
Have any of you been exposed to the construction process at levels that
would included access systems as well as the student data network
infrastructure.
We're looking for any information relating to wireless access systems
that
you may have come across in this process.
We've still got some time before this phase of the construction, and are
trying to find a more cost effective way of installing new access points
as
well as retro fit some of the older buildings while avoiding the cost of
installing conduit and physical wiring to these access stations.
Thanks again for your time,
-mike
