Someone Put out onthe Packeteer email list about the product. I
downloaded it and set my machine up as a class so I could watch it
discover what was going on. With the Packeteer if the protocol falls in
the default class you can go to the command line and do a "traffic
history recent /inbound/class/default" or a "traffic history recent
/outbound/class/default" and it will show you the machines it was
recently talking to, the protocol and the port number. You can do this
for any class so if you want to see the last http hits on a particular
class you could do that.
Blubster is mainly using UDP port 41170 for inbound traffic. The
outbound traffic is the one that is hopping around. It is port hopping
all the time on the outbound.
It is a very good program to find songs. It may be one you want to use
for your own file gathering before a bunch of students start using it.

Hi Todd,
How do you even recognize that Blubster is on your internet link? If I
know what to look for, I might be able to constrain it (not block it).
Don't these programs only port-hop when they're blocked?
