Veronica,
We do an annual online survey in the spring at NC State. We use a prize
drawing as an incentive for students to fill out the survey, with prizes
donated by the bookstore, dining, or provided by us. We don't cover cable
TV and phone issues, just ResNet, general computing and other IT-related
questions.
Because users have to authenticate to take the survey we can match their
responses to other demographic data (then we remove personally identifying
material to maintain confidentiality). The authentication also prevents
them from taking the surveys more than once and allows us to randomly
select winners for the prizes and get back in touch with them.
