Lori,
We’ve been using PaperCut for over ten years at Saint Mary’s College in our computer classrooms and clusters - all HP printers. Last summer we implemented out a second PaperCut server to track printing usage by faculty and staff on our leased Xerox printers in departments.
While we definitely hit some snags with the faculty/staff rollout, once they were resolved we haven’t encountered further issues.
The administrative interface is easy to use, we use the print cards for additional quota requests (sold through the Bookstore until Follet took over, now sold from the ResNet Office and charged to student accounts), we encourage students to request refunds through the web interface, and we have it set to send notifications via text and e-mail if a printer has been down for more than ten minutes.
Please let me know if you have specific questions,
Kathy
