Greetings everyone,
It's been a while since I posted to the list, so not everyone may know
that I have taken a new position as CIO & Associate Provost at the
University of Alabama in Huntsville. As such, I am currently recruiting for
some key positions here and hope that some of my ResNet friends will apply
for these positions. Although the U of A-Huntsville campus is small in
student population (about 7,500) we are a tier-1 research university and
known for atmospheric science, rocket propulsion, multiple areas of
engineering, the nursing college, and have a wonderful music program.
Huntsville is also known as Rocket City, home to
NASA<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NASA>
's Marshall Space Flight
Center<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marshall_Space_Flight_Center>
, Cummings Research Park, and many, many other resesarch companies. The
public schools here are great, cost of living super affordable, and great
outdoor hiking, biking, kayaking, etc. opportunities. As you can see, I'm
perfectly willing to talk the place up.
At any rate, here are the first positions I will be hiring:

Director of Networks and Infrastructure
Chief Information Security Officer

program for the University, encompassing academic, administrative, and
research entities, as well as addressing the student experience and
visiting scholars and researchers. We seek a strong yet highly
collaborative individual to provide vision strategy, broad-based planning
as well as hands-on responsibility as the Chief Information Security
Officer (CISO).
*Requirements:*
Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science, MIS, Information Security,
Information Technology, Information Systems Management, or a related field
(3 years of demonstrated work experience in an IT security related position
may substitute in lieu of the degree requirement/5 years of full-time
related progressive responsibility in a professional position/must possess
a CISSP certification (CSA may be considered in lieu of CISSP)/3 years of
experience managing information security, policy, planning, prioritizing,
defining activities associated with identity management, access management
and enterprise security/knowledge of Firewalls, intrusion detection,
intrusion prevention, forensic analysis and incident management
preferred/knowledge of FERPA, PCI, HIPPA, GLBA, ITAR, and FISMA desired
