At WCU, we're still on one of those dead-end versions of Windows Live/Offic=
e Live/Exchange Live/whatever Microsoft calls this limbo they have forced u=
s into just to force us out again. We're looking at the migration up to fu=
ll Office 365, which we have to accomplish by March or else.
I'd like to gather feedback about people's migration. We'll have to go wit=
h the A2 free plan because we can't afford the $300,00/year price tag of th=
e next level. We're a little concerned about losing SkyDrive, but from wha=
t I understand Sharepoint Online will allow students 10GB of storage for th=
eir online office documents (otherwise, what's the point, right?).
What are the management hurtles of Sharepoint Online? Will it increase the=
workload from a system administrator? Are there any extraneous support co=
ncerns with this? I believe the system admins are concerned with the workl=
oad of Sharepoint Online. Also, we were just looking in to placing the new=
SkyDrive app on our classroom computers when we found out about this, so i=
s there a way to integrate the cloud and desktop in a similar fashion?
Any thoughts or guidance would be of great assistance.
