Streaming video makes up 45 to 60% of our traffic on any given day. =
Looking at the last 7 days of streaming video, about 55% is Netflix and =
26% is YouTube.

No question here. Just a data point. Inspired by the panel on content =
distribution networks at the NANOG meeting earlier this week, I decided =
to look at the amount of our traffic that comes from Netflix. Answer:

The graphs are for the whole campus, but at midnight when Netflix peaks, =
there is no significant use outside the residences. Netflix is =
responsible for 30 percent of the peak traffic on RESNet. While I put =
the source IP addresses of our Netflix traffic on plot, unless your =
network is part of CENIC, your addresses would be different.
