We check our equipment out through the Libraries, which means that responsi=
bility is "magically implicit," according to the director of Access Service=
s.

However, we do have a "Travel Contract" that I make students sign when they=
are traveling with our media equipment (cameras, mics, tripods, etc.). Bas=
ically, it just reminds them that they're taking out several hundred dollar=
s worth of equipment and if there is damage/loss/theft they're the ones I'm=
charging. (I also have access to their Bursar and Library accounts because=
of our partnership with the Library, so I CAN charge replacement costs if =
something happens.)

I wrote the statement with our Office of Risk Management. They basically wr=
ote the second half of the contract for me, when I said I wanted something =
with "I" statements to drive home the fact that they were responsible.

Thanks very much!
