I am curious about two things in regards to the question:
1. Why are you replacing all of the patch cables in your residence h=
alls? I understand if one gets damaged, but I've never had a patch cable g=
o bad in my entire career without someone or something causing damage to it=
physically. I don't understand the concept of replacing them all on what =
sounds like a routine basis?
2. Labeling - are you physically putting labels on each end of the pa=
tch cords? What exactly do these labels say? if a switch port goes bad, d=
o you have to change the label when you move to another port? Again, I'm j=
ust curious as to something that seems like a great deal of effort for very=
little benefit.
The only cable labeling we do is both ends of the physical cable run, behi=
nd the faceplate and where it terminates to the patch panel. Of course the=
faceplate and patch panel port have labels, but none of the patch cords. I=
'm just trying to understand what the purpose is.

atching frames?
At the moment we purchased sheets of labels and use a PC & printer to do it=
, just wondering if there is a labelling machine that can print directly to=
the patch lead or print easy single labels in sequence.
