Andy,

I had contemplated doing a session on wireless networking concerns myself, =
particularly in urban campuses. I would be happy to join you in a panel di=

Subject: Wireless Panel Discussion at STC

Hello all. I proposed a BOF this year at the STC on campus wireless networ=
king concerns. However, I accidentally put this in as a lecture, and didn'=
t notice my error until much later. Due to funding and several other restr=
ictions I wouldn't say that my institution is doing anything groundbreaking=
in wireless, and I'm not really comfortable doing a lecture on it. I am v=
ery knowledgeable about the topic, the challenges, and the technology. Wou=
ld anyone like to join me to do a panel discussion? Below is my proposal:

"Wireless access was the hottest topic on our university-wide IT survey. Am=
ong the concerns were coverage, capacity, and compatibility. The question i=
s: Which do you attack first? Expanding coverage and capacity are both expe=
nsive. Do you deploy basic wireless coverage to several new areas, or do yo=
u put robust access in several? How to you comply with security standards, =
but still make the network compatible for personal and SOHO devices? We'll =
discuss these concerns, and our experiences with implementing our actions."
