NEWLY POSTED POSITIONS:

Videoconferencing Systems Administrator-HIRING MANAGER: KYLE POPE

The Videoconferencing Systems Administrator position will have primary responsibility for maintaining and updating the underlying technology to support Tufts University’s Cisco videoconferencing and Adobe Connect web conferencing services. This will include patching, upgrading and troubleshooting and maintenance of documentation. This position will be responsible for maintaining metrics and providing reporting to the Videoconferencing Coordinator.  The Administrator will be tasked with creating, maintaining and testing a business continuity/disaster recovery plan for both the videoconferencing and web conferencing services.   In addition, this position is the primary point of contact for the TechConnect queue, Tufts’ Information Technology Service Management system, and is the escalation point for customer inquiries and issues as well as acting as point of contact for videoconferencing vendors on behalf of customers for both mobile and room-based videoconferencing options. A!
 dditionally, the Administrator will provide assistance to users regarding features, functionality and proper use of services and provide both formal and informal training, as needed, to customers.


Interactive Media Designer-HIRING MANAGER: MELANIE ST. JAMES

The Interactive Media Designer collaborates with ESTS's design and development team in creating educational software and web applications that enhance teaching and learning at Tufts University. Using User-Centered Design principles, the interactive media designer participates in functional analysis, develops design concepts and rapid prototypes and implements user interfaces for ESTS's software products. This staff position is directly responsible for preparing graphics, creating style sheets, authoring HTML templates and assisting with user testing. Occasional design of print materials is also within the scope of this position. This position reports to the Manager of Design and Usability Services, and frequently collaborates with Tufts faculty and students toward the development of educational software.


OTHER OPEN POSITIONS:

Senior Systems Administrator – LMS- HIRING MANAGER: MATT MCVEY

This position will provide systems, platform, and application-level administration support for the Sakai-based Tufts Learning Management System (LMS) as part of UIT and as part of the LMS core team.  The position will work in conjunction with other UIT system administrators in Enterprise Infrastructure and Educational & Scholarly Technology Services (ESTS) and in close partnership with the Manager of LMS Services to ensure robust infrastructure, configuration, testing, and continuous enhancement for the Tufts LMS and other associated services.  This position will also contribute to other Enterprise Systems services, for example email, LDAP, IdM, web services, storage, virtualization, and will participate actively in all relevant UIT Educational & Scholarly Technology Services and Enterprise Systems activities.


Network Engineer – HIRING MANAGER: PHIL PASCALE

The successful candidate for the Network Engineer position will be an energetic and highly motivated individual with keen problem solving and customer service skills. As a key member of the Network Engineering team, this position is responsible for the operation, support and surveillance of Tufts´ multi-campus data network. This individual is involved in the operation of a mission critical, highly-resilient network infrastructure, including all wired network switches, core routers, service provider uplinks, next generation wireless platform, load balancers, firewalls, vpn and security systems and related central network services including DNS/DHCP/IPAM. This position will provide installation, configuration and operational support for these systems as well as capacity planning, change control, inventory control and monitoring functions. This individual should also have some systems administration skills and basic proficiency with Unix and Linux operating systems. The Network!
  Engineer will provide network operations, customer service and support to the Frontline Support staff from each of the schools. The successful candidate must possess strong technical and collaboration skills, as well as be customer focused with a results oriented attitude, and must have willingness to learn and grow in this position. The position requires teamwork and the ability to multi-task and balance work load between a few simultaneous projects.


Manager of Enterprise Systems Administration and Infrastructure- HIRING MANAGER: ROB PERFETTI

Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Enterprise Systems, the Manager of Enterprise Systems Administration and Infrastructure is responsible for leading the administration and operational management of Enterprise Infrastructure's AIX, Solaris, Linux servers, research cluster and virtualization infrastructure which support the University's administrative/enterprise applications and services. The Manager leads a team of seven system administrators to ensure systems reliability, availability, security, and 24/7 delivery of services and operational support related to these systems. Key responsibilities include managing infrastructure related projects, aligning activities to UIT policies and standards, following industry best practices, setting project goals, closely monitoring project execution, driving issue resolution, and identifying and executing operational enhancements to improve efficiency, productivity and cost savings.  d counterparts as well as senior management to make technical recommendations and collaborate on strategic objectives.
