I recently stumbled upon some disturbing data for our software/hardware rep=
air shop. On average, over 1 in 10 students that we deal with has a failin=
g hard drive. In March it accounted for 17% of our tickets; in February it=
was 18%. In November alone we saw 26 hard drives fail.
That being said, what are people doing about awareness of data protection? =
We are a windows live shop, so we do advertise SkyDrive some. However, ba=
cking up to it is a very manual process, much like a flash drive. We're th=
inking about standardizing on a recommendation for a cloud service. Mozy, =
Carbonite, etc come to mind. Has anyone looked in to contracting one of th=
ese services? Being a reseller?
Thoughts?
