PDS ideas for ResNet STC 2012 at Claremont Colleges

Greetings everyone,
It's hard to believe, but STC 2012 is just 5 months away, and the Claremont=
Colleges host committee is already in high gear, getting everything ready =
to have a memorable conference here in sunny Southern California. At our m=
eeting yesterday, we started pitching ideas for Professional Development Se=
minar topics, and I wanted to solicit ideas for half-day or full-day sessio=
ns. Here are some ideas we are considering:
GIS - using ArcGIS for research and in the classroom
Online presentation tools, like Prezi.com to punch up your presentations an=
d meetings
Training on Adobe products (PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator) - this would =
likely be a two-part course, with the first 3 hours for beginners, and the =
second part tackling more advanced operations
Orientation/training video production: from concept, to story board, to sho=
oting, to editing with iMovie (less steep learning curve than Final Cut)
What we are envisioning are PDS sessions that will teach you real-world ski=
lls that you can take back with you and put into practice right away, as yo=
u prepare for Fall 2012. If you've always wanted to see a particular PDS a=
t STC, or if you want to teach on a topic near and dear to your heart, we w=
ant to hear from you.
