Hope everybody is having a good Holiday Season.
Since it is the holidays and residents are away our residential life staff
want to do video conferencing with residents to discuss judicial matters as
well as interview Residential Adviser applicants. Since they are younger
residential life staff they only consider using skype.
Have you other Universities done this?
I've suggested that they use AV by AOL since it is flash/web based neither
person needs to install client software or login or create accounts. It
supports a total of 4 in a conference at a time. The first person
initiates the conference and is given a short URL link that can be IM,
e-mailed, or texted to the other party.

I'm trying to get them away from having us install skype software on their
work computers. Webcams are plug-and-play so we don't even have to touch
their desktops to set those web cams up.
The only downside I see is that the other person can't use iOS devices
since it needs flash.
Security issues if it's for judicial matters?
Other alternatives to skype which are "client-less" and don't require an
account?
