I upgraded my iPod touch 3rd generation to ios 5, and it's killing the perf=
ormance and battery life. I want to downgrade back to 4.3.5, but everythin=
g I've tried has failed. I've searched all around with Google and YouTube =
and I have the correct IPSW file for my device (iPod3,1_4.3.5_8L1_Restore.i=
psw) and have used the Option-Click on Restore in iTunes to try and restore=
back to that firmware, but continually get blocked by Apple, as it indicat=
es "device isn't eligible" for this build during the "verifying with Apple"=
phase. I've even modified my hosts file to point to "alternative" IP path=
s to gs.apple.com, and it still doesn't work. Has anyone successfully down=
graded their iThingy back to pre-ios5?
