Bellarmine University recently (between Fall 10 and Spring 11) migrated to PaperCut in an AD environment and I prefer it over our previous product (CSPrint). Users can see their balance and the web interface is good for reports and refunding failed print jobs, correcting balance amounts, etc.
They have some eye-catching numbers as well on their main page, including the "Environmental Impact" which shows the numbers of trees used, CO2 produced, and how many hours a 60W bulb could be run for that amount of energy used to print. Some of this has helped get the ball rolling on duplex printing (at a slightly discounted rate) and other options to decrease printing on campus.

Hi All,
We are considering charging students for printing in out lab and are exploring several different methods. One would be using the students id card and a swipe card reader mounted to the printer. Another would be use third-party software and Active Directory to charge back to the students account.
Does anyone have a system in place that they can recommend.
