Randall,
This issue JUST came up in a meeting yesterday. We're just moving to an
802.1x network for general usage, so are evaluating XpressConnect for our
environment. I would also be very interested in workarounds for this.
I noticed on UPenn's site that they host the app locally:

Have folks tried that and found it to be successful? We don't really want to
open up the entire market without authentication.
