1. Does your central Help Desk provide BTS support for the dorms or s=
ome other group?
We set up satellite locations in a few of the dorms during the weekend that=
the new students come to campus with their parents. They are there to ass=
ist with setup and connections and to put parents at ease :)
2. Does your Help Desk also provide support for faculty and staff?
YES
3. Who staff's your Help Desk (full time staff, students, mix of both=
)?
Students and the full time staff help out during the move in weekend.
4. Do you have a physical support presence in the dorms (on-site supp=
ort)?
a. If so, who provides it? students
b. What days and hours? Sat-sun 8-3pm during the move in weekend only
c. What limitations (if any) are there on what support you provide on=
-site? General connection and setup things, anything else is referred to t=
he main helpdesk.
5. How do you let students know what support is available?
Advance advertising to incoming students, lots of posters and a video.
6. How do they request help?
They either put in a ticket or come to the table for helpl
