We had NAC for 3 years and then removed it. We found that having a NAC solution greatly degraded the user experience and greatly increased our workload.
We opted to do some simple things, like not allow wireless clients (most of our student laptops) to talk to each other to prevent the spread of viruses between computers. We also have anti-malware/anti-virus capabilities build into our firewall to help prevent computers from getting infected while on the campus network.

re-evaluating whether or not we really need to support a solution of this
type anymore. Have any other Universities done, or considered removing
