We are trying to find a solution to the problem of campus computer users using their mobile computers for non-College purposes (playing games, letting their kids use the computers, shopping, etc.) We've found that the need to reimage, due mainly to malware attacks, has increased, even though Microsoft ForeFront and WebRoot are installed and active on these computers. How do other schools handle laptop use? Have you found any way to keep people from "personalizing" their College-owned computers? Do you have any policies that keep faculty and staff from using their business computers for non-business activities? We don't want to completely lock the computers down, but need to find a way to stop people from continually "catching" malware.
Thanks for your input.
