Sunday - 11:50am
Running A Campus Authorized Service Center: Benefits and Challenges
Adam Bray (Yale University); Wendy Shih (Kent State University)
* Serving as an Authorized Service Center for companies such as Apple an=
d Dell has many benefits for your community: improved skills and knowledge =
for your staff to increase retention, more tailored support for your campu=
s community, possible financial gain, and even providing additional servic=
es such as data recovery, custom part-order & install, loaner computers, a=
nd more. But providing warranty support also comes with many challenges, s=
uch as additional training and facility requirements, increased staffing, f=
inancial accounting, and managing user and vendor expectations/relationship=
s. In this panel, we=92ll discuss our experiences in each university and p=
rovide tips and tricks that we=92ve learned at Kent State and Yale.
