Sorry, I forgot the 2nd part.
Similar to GWU, if their key is on the computer, we usually can reinstall=
with our library of collection or with a universal CD we made. We also re=
trieve their office key and reinstall it for them. If the OS key is worn=
off and we can't scramble it, then we may suggest them to call manufacture=
r. If students don't have windows 7, we told them to buy it from MS site =
for $29.99 to avoid terrible vista since price is good. For mac, we have =
Casper images.

Subject: Re: OS licensing for students

We ask the students to bring in the disks if we dont have a set. Over the y=
ears we have been creating ISOs/DMGs of disks that students bring by so tha=
t we can run off a new set to use if a student doesnt have their disks. At =
this point we have a decent library, but of course we're always missing the=
 newest set.

I actually just had some conversations with our Apple sales engineer about =
how as a service provider it would be really good to have a library of disk=
s, or at least the ability to download the DMGs from GSX. He said he's hear=
d that a few times and would pass it along, but we know how soon those sugg=
estions turn into reality...

Does anyone have an OS (Windows or Mac) licensing agreement so that student=
s can receive the OS for free or for a small fee?
If so what are the terms of the agreement?

How do places deal with student machines that need OS's re-installed and th=
e student fails to provide the disks?
