Hey everyone!

For the past two years, we've held a silent auction to benefit the
Senti-Merriman Scholarship. The Scholarship pays for the registration and
transportation of a deserving student employee, nominated by their
supervisor. And for the past two years, we've done pretty well for
ourselves. We went from $300 to over $600 from year one to year two! We
doubled out fundraising efforts in one year. Pretty awesome if you ask me!
I am very appreciative of everything that everyone has done to help us
out the last two years, whether it was donating an item or getting into a
bidding war over Margaret's stained glass picture frames. Thank you!

We need your help, again. You've been so generous in the past and we hope
that you can continue to be generous this year. Donations can be just
about anything. CDs, candy, stuff from your bookstore, homemade items,
art, jewelry, baked goods... I could go on, but instead I'll list some
popular items from past years...

+ Margaret Landsparger's beautiful handmade stained glass picture frames
+ "Canadian Gift Basket" featuring maple goodies and whole lot of red and
white maple leaves
+ Louisiana/Mardi Gras-themed gift basket
+ Portable speakers
+ Wendy Shih's lovely handmade jewelry
+ Photographs
+ Travel mugs
+ External hard drives

And what can you expect this year? Well, I've already got some promised
items, such as....

+ Stained glass pictures frames
+ Maple Porter home-brewed beer (Yes, seriously, beer.)
+ Yale ITS and Yale Library gift baskets
+ Signed CD from the Joey Velluci Band
+ Homemade cookies

But we need more donations! Do you sing in a band? Do you take cool
pictures? Do you bake awesomely tasty things? Do you have a cool tool or
toy that you love, and think that someone else might like, as well? These
are all great places to start with ideas. If you'd like help coming up
with an idea, or two, please let me know - I would love to help you
brainstorm!

If you think that you'll be able to give something (or want help with
ideas), please email me at erin.scott@yale.edu. You can also give me a
call at 203-436-8456. I'm always happy to talk!

Again, thank you so much, everyone. Without your help, the silent auction
doesn't exist.
