It depends on your definition of "cheap". My vendors have gotten used to m=
e calling things "inexpensive" so I don't get a crap product. Doesn't alwa=
ys work, but I try.

I started out using these http://www.microsemi.com/PowerDsine/Products/Mids=
pan/PD_3001.asp and now use their multi-port IP managed Midspan injectors i=
n higher density areas. I still have the single port injectors for the out=
of the way AP installations. Looks like they run about $36 at a few vendo=
rs. I believe when I bought ours it was closer to $20. Only failure I've =
had was a 6 port 9000 series that had a shower drain installed above it. Y=
ep, drain leaked and the magic electronic smoke was let out.

The single injectors use standard computer power cords, which I always have=
hundreds laying around somewhere. I hate equipment that uses a power bric=
k.

I don't see Linksys on this compatibility chart http://www.microsemi.com/Po=
werDsine/Products/SelectionGuide_Low.asp but then again, I don't see my Aru=
ba AP 105's listed in either the 802.3af or 802.3at lists. Aruba is listed=
as a vendor though. Might be worth a call, as I'm curious why they wouldn=
't work. POE is standard.

Subject: power over ethernet

We're doing a low budget wireless expansion this summer and installing 40+ =
Linksys WRT54GLs (flashed with DD-WRT) in our apartments. Last time we rol=
led out a batch of these we used the Linksys WAPPOE12 power over ethernet a=
dapter kits, but these seem to have been discontinued.

Anyone know where to get a cheap, UL listed, POE injector/receiver kit that=
 works with the WRT54GL?

Thanks,
Noel McHugh
