We=92re quickly counting down the days until the ResNet Student Technology
Conference, and it=92s time for update!
Early-bird Registration Extended

We=92ve extended early-bird registration until May 13th. Register
soon<http://www.regonline.com/942048> to
make sure you get the discounted registration rate!
Forum is live!

The Student Technology Conference
Forum<http://resnetsymposium.org/resnet2011/bbpress/> is
now up and ready to receive posts. You can use it to plan Birds-of-a-Feathe=
r
(BoF) sessions, activities, sightseeing in New Haven, and just about
anything else.
Professional Development Seminars

The ResNet Student Technology Conference is filled with lots of great
opportunities to learn: between informal discussions with your peers,
birds-of-a-feather sessions during meals, and of course the 6 program
session blocks, you=92ll probably find yourself struggling to fit all that =
new
knowledge in your carry-on baggage (silly airlines and their fees!).

But one of the most valuable ways to learn at the ResNet Student Technology
Conference is to register for up to two Professional Development Seminars.
These optional seminars are held the day before the conference start, and
use either a 1/2- or full-day to really dive in deep on each topic. The
sessions are a great value, starting at $50 for most of the 1/2-day
sessions, and $125-$150 for the full-day sessions, and breakfast and lunch
on Friday are included in the cost.

We=92re really excited about the PDS sessions we=92re offering this year; w=
e've
got presenters who are experts in their respective areas coming from Yale,
and beyond to lead these sessions. We=92re hosting sessions covering eight
different topics, so the hardest problem may be deciding which on two
sessions to register for. Here are some of the sessions we=92re offering th=
is
year:

   - You 3.0: Version Control and Change Management for Your
Career<http://resnetsymposium.org/resnet2011/professional-development-semin=
ars/#career>
   - Windows Technical Fundamentals for Understanding and Cleaning
Malware<http://resnetsymposium.org/resnet2011/professional-development-semi=
nars/#malware>
   - Managing Across Generations: Gen Y=92s in the
Workplace<http://resnetsymposium.org/resnet2011/professional-development-se=
minars/#generations>
   - Creating a Sense of Place on the Web for University
Sites<http://resnetsymposium.org/resnet2011/professional-development-semina=
rs/#webdesign>

And we=92re just announcing our newest session, led by an Devin McLaughlin,=
 an
Apple employee and subject expert:

   - Supporting and Managing iPads, iPods, and iPhone in Higher
Education<http://resnetsymposium.org/resnet2011/professional-development-se=
minars/#apple>

To see the rest, and to read more about each session, visit the PDS
page<http://resnetsymposium.org/resnet2011/professional-development-seminar=
s/>.
And don=92t forget to register for the
conference<http://www.regonline.com/942048>,
if you haven=92t done so already. All PDS sessions have a limited number of
seats available.
Did you know=85?

*Half-day activity edition*

Lake Compounce<http://resnetsymposium.org/resnet2011/half-day-activities/#l=
akecompounce>
is
the oldest continuously operating amusement park in North America, having
operated every year since 1846.

Dinosaur State Park<http://resnetsymposium.org/resnet2011/half-day-activiti=
es/#dinosaur>
contains
one of the largest dinosaur track sites in North America, with early
Jurassic fossil tracks from about 200 million years ago.
