Brian,
we moved from webmail to Zimbra a little over a year ago...we as a cluster with some on VM but the mailboxes reside physical... we really have seen NO problems. Faculty Staff and students equal about 2200 mailboxes and we are bringing up the open source version for retirees and alumni that will all be on VMware, should be well 5K mailboxes.
let me know if you have specific problems..

Subject: Zimbra
Hi All,
We run CommuniGatePro for our mail server and it is great ..... except
for calendaring, we run Meeting Maker for that but there are issues with
accessing it from mobile devices. We saw a demo from some VMware
employees today of Zimbra and it looks pretty amazing since the last
time we tested it about 2 years ago. Any schools out there using Zimbra
and if so, how do you like it? Are you running it virtualized and if so
have you had any disk i/o issues? If you are using it with VMware how do
you handle failover/high availability? Do you just rely on VMware's
HA/vMotion or do you use some other method?
Thanks for any feedback :-)
