The iPad2 that we have in IT which is primarily loaned out within IT for testing and usage (and on occasion outside of the group) has Find my iPad enabled as well as the Undercover app by Orbicule.
We've purchased a few of the dock connector adapters and given it to the Help Desk & AV staff in case someone wants to connect it via projector on campus.

A word of advice, if you do end up supporting iPads set up the "Find My iPad" feature. A professor had her personal iPad stolen and that was not set up before hand. She had set up the Apple mail application and the thief didn't know so we were able to see what IP address it had but it never helped us retrieve it. Within a day it went from Massachusetts to New York city and our Public Safety officers worked with some police in that area but I think it came down to not wanting to waste several man hours to track down something that costs that much.

Those that want a 3G model and want to add it to the University account, we order them for the user but is then property of the university and if the person leaves, they need to return it or make arrangements with their department/lab if they want to keep it - same as for cell phones.

All are invited to come including those that do not have anything yet and are looking to buy something. I will have ipads, ipod touch, android galaxy tablet, kindle, nook etc there and encouraging others to bring what they have and discuss the devices.
