A: DELETE. Carry on.

Seriously though (and I totally agree especially the "especially baby  
boomers" part), for many non-tech-employed, email is an entertainment  
channel.  Folks like us don't have time for such nonsense.  I'm not  
so rude as to create a filter to route my dad's emails straight into  
the trash, but based on the Subject line, about 99% of them get  
deleted without me even looking at them.  No muss, no fuss, no  
arguments.
