Thanks Nick. We're using "all new" for this, so it will be View 4.5 with PCoIP support/usage - so hopefully all will be well. The few places we think we might be bottlenecked for large scale VDI deployment have upgrade plans, so only time will tell!

Eric,

I'll tell you that network bandwidth has not been an issue for us. As long as you're using a wired connection with clean fiber, modern network infrastructure seems able to handle it just fine.

Video struggled with earlier releases of VMWare, but the keys are (1) use the latest version, (2) if possible, use PC over IP, and (3) be sure to follow VMWare's best practices in terms of how to install agent, tools, and .NET framework.

Awwww, c'mon - not even a hint to the punchline? :)

We're looking at testing VDI for labs "soon" (within a few months?).
Our main concerns are network bandwidth and video performance, going in.

Hey, everyone,

Anyone else out there have any experience running VDI / VMWare in a lab or commons space on their campus? We've been doing so for a while now, and, without spoiling the punch-line, I'd love to compare experiences.

Thanks!
