The ability to see into the future has long been a job requirement for those of us in IT. Where is ResNet heading at your institution and how are you planning for the future? Each freshman class brings with it new technologies and challenges, and their expectations have never been higher for us to accommodate them. At the same time, the seniors are still working with technology that is four years old and needs to be supported. How will your university find a balance between the two while remaining forward-thinking? Submit a proposal for the Strategic Planning: Envisioning the Future theme for the 2011 ResNet Symposium and tell us what you're doing!
Share your plans of attack and your rates of success (and failure) with others! Some possible topics are, but not limited to:
- Outsourcing services (e-mail, ResNet, etc.)
- Supporting (and leveraging) mobile devices
- "Green" or sustainable ResNet services/policies
- Print management and accounting
- Wireless initiatives
- Reevaluating television/telephone services in residence halls
- Use of social networking and other "student-friendly" technologies to communicate with students
- Plan of attack for the next major virus/malware outbreak on your campus
Submit your presentation ideas by visiting http://resnetsymposium.org/resnet2011/program-request-for-presentations/
If you think presenting by yourself is too stressful, post to the ResNet listserv and see if other ResNetters would be interested in joining you for a panel presentation. You could also choose to moderate a Birds of a Feather (BOF) session.
The deadline for submission is Friday, March 11 at 5pm PST. Submit your proposal TODAY!

Touch base with me, your Strategic Planning theme guide, if you have any questions!
