Planning for the worst at work is something that most of us don't usually enjoy
doing but it's something we all do to avoid that big disaster that lands our
department or institution on the front page of the paper or on the evening
news.

Your users are usually curious by nature and will eventually find a vulnerability
(physical, technical, or social) to exploit so how do you keep your shop in order
and keep chaos from running rampant? Without some security practices and
policy guidelines in place, it probably wouldn't take too long for trouble to rear
its ugly head and leave you with a big mess on your hands.

If you're finding yourself at a point of harmonious balance with IT Security and
Policy (or if you're not quite there yet but have implemented a related program
or know somebody at your institution who has) the Student Technology
Conference wants to hear about it.

The submission of a presentation proposal can be done here:
http://resnetsymposium.org/resnet2011/program-request-for-presentations/

Need help on any questions related to the Security and Policy theme? Please
feel free to contact me at: jdwright@purdue.edu
Remember proposals are due Friday, March 11th, 2011 at 5pm Pacific Time so
don't delay.
