Dr. Horrible has joined the faculty of the Evil League of Evil Technology
Department at Bad Horse University. His Fall 2011 curriculum includes
classes on how to build a freeze-ray app for the iPhone and Android
mobile smart
phones.
The final project goal: How to contain the tiny amount of Wonderflonium
needed to make the freeze-ray app work properly.
Challenges might include: how to safely contain the app's Wonderflonium in
case someone accidentally drops the mobile phone on the ground and it
bounces.
Dr. Horrible needs fresh ideas on how to teach this course and he's looking
forward to visiting ResNet at Yale this year. What kinds of new learning
technologies would you present to him for the classroom if you were tied to
a chair with duct tape and threatened with being transported back home by
his not quite properly working trans-matter ray? How about the inviting him
to take a look at your swanky, new learning spaces or SMART classrooms so h=
e
could collect decorating tips for his lab, hmmm? Wouldn't you want to share
your newly created digital design course so he could use it to simulate
problems on campus that could occur if things go awry?
Please, be proactive, collaborate with your academic-type colleagues and
develop a Learning and Educational Technology topic designed to enrich and
enthrall ResNetters from near and far. Then, join us and unveil your
presentation at the 2011 ResNet Student Technology Conference where higher
education professionals gather together to share and discuss the latest
technologies and support strategies meant for world domination.
