Our school still uses coax/fiber infrastructure to deliver television
programming to campus residence halls. We also use similar infrastructure
to deliver instructional television to the classrooms. As we are planning
for the future, we would like to know the following:
1) Does your school provide IPTV to residence halls and/or classrooms?
a. If not, why not and when do you see this happening?
b. If yes, what are the bandwidth impact and security risk to your
network?
2) What percentage of your students still bring TV's to campus? To
watch cable TV programming, for video gaming or both?
3) How much network bandwidth do you provide for housing? What
percentage comes from Netflix and Hulu?
Thank you for your input. Any other insight on this would be appreciated.
