**DISCLAIMER: I work for Blackboard. I do not, however, have any stake in selling our products and the information below is based on my own personal experience.**
When we acquired Wimba a few months ago I started using Wimba Pronto for internal communication and the video performance is great and it was easy to setup. The other video product, Elluminate VCS has also had success working with our larger Tandberg and Polycom units but the integration was a little flaky until we tweaked it.

We have a few videoconferencing rooms that remote folks use Movi to connect with, some polycom units, fixed and portable and we have an Adobe Connect presence. The ResNet Board has been using our Adobe Connect for board meetings and the overall response has been good. A few tech glitches when sharing computer screens but nothing that slowed us down, it's actually worked much better (IMHO) than our past method of a conference bridge.
Best,
Judi

At Duke we use a variety of tools, including but not limited to Skype, Adobe Connect, Polycom (built-in and portable systems) and Cisco Telepresence (just sort of beginning its life on campus, but really the coolest of the bunch.)
All the tools have their ups and downs. In an ideal world, I think you'd want to be able to support a portfolio of tools, because each of them can do different kinds of things, depending on the situation.
Having said that, I think that Adobe Connect is a fairly solid piece of software and would be worthwhile exploring if you are mandated to provide a particular platform.
Best,
Erin
