Yes, it was made official with the newsletter that came out last week; there was an announcement there. Yale was OK with it, so we went with the change for this year.

I was checking out the wiki, looking for something or other, and noticed
that the "Hosting Bid Planning" page had been changed on January 11 from
"ResNet Symposium" to "Student Technology Conference".
I know we'd been discussing a name change, and it was a hot topic at the
Town Hall at WWU, but I don't recall coming to any conclusions and I didn't
see any announcements or further discussion.
Disclaimer - I'm not trying to start an argument. I'm not on the board,
can't run for the board since we (Matt, Karmel and I) are hosting 2012 in
Claremont (just before the end of the world, make sure to come!) so don't
have a say in it.
I just thought there would be some more discussion or at least an
announcement to the effect that the "ResNet Symposium" is now the "Student
Technology Conference". . .
So - is this official? Are we now the "Student Technology Conference"?
