We don't do dot1X, but do use Bradford. The stock registration can be setup to
recognize most mobile devices and auto-register them (but not tied to the user,
unfortunately).
We have tweaked the standard registration to get authentication credentials via the
device's browser, and if validated as a mobile device gets registered to the user
(skipping the PC/MAC-required agent).
Of course if current trends with malware on mobile devices continue, somebody's going to
have to start enforcing some policy on them too :)
