There are several solutions available. A very popular option is called
LabStats. It's not free but everyone that I know that uses it has been
very happy with it. At Dickinson we use data from our Altiris server
to display computer availability, so if you have a system similar to
that, you may be able to create something on your own. I have heard of
schools which use their KeyServer data, as well.

If you're looking for a free option, some users on the Lab Manager
list have created their own systems and you may be able to ask there
if any are available.
