To look at the problem from the network side, please send full IP address, mask and gateway address of both the AppleTV and Mac.

Subject: AppleTV on resnet?
Hi Folks!
I'm trying to help one of our staff member get his AppleTV working on our network. (I have couple of other folks also with AppleTV so it is in my best interest to get it working if possible.)
We use NetReg for network registration and I have gotten an ip address for the AppleTV (1st gen) He has signed into iTunes with his account information from the AppleTV.
He has a MacBook Pro and it is also on our wired network. The devices have the same two starting octets but the rest are different. The subnet mask and gateway address are the same. (Which means they are on the same subnet, right?) In any case I actually also tried to manually set an ip address to be the same xxx.xxx.xxx.101 AppleTV and xxx.xxx.xxx.103 MacBook and that didn't work either.
The problem is that the AppleTV does not show up in Devices on iTunes. I have checked that both iTunes and the AppleTV are updated and I've tried rebooting both a number of times.
Does anyone have any clues for me? I really thought that I'd get it going once both devices were on the same, wired, network. I can't connect them wirelessly since we use 802.1x and we don't support the AppleTV on the wireless network.
(Since this is so close to break I might post this again after the new year to see if anyone else has any ideas.)
Thanks and happy Solstice!
Caroline
