First, to Adam. The cheapest place to get AAUI tranceivers is at Focus
Enhancements. They sell for about $50 for UTP.
Next, I know that early on someone posted that we could buy 8port UTP repeaters
from Focus, for about $189 or something like that. Has anyone bought
them? Has anyone had problems with them? Can we still get them for less
than their regular price? Also, is there ANY reason to buy an Asante or
Dayna repeater that is more expensive? Besides brand name?
We cannot afford a managed repeater, or SNMP, or anything like that. So
is there any reason to not buy the Focus repeater?
It's cheap. We are ready to buy. Any comments, anybody?
