The Allied Telesis 1700AT is not NE2000 compatable - the Allied
Telesis 2000U is. I don't recall why the original poster was looking
for NE2000 compatability but if you need that, or if you are running
Microsoft Windows NT, or if you have an older 8-bit machine the 2000U
may be what you are looking for - otherwise you're probably better off
with the newer 1700AT. I think the MCC will be getting a limited
number of the Allied Telesis 2000Us but they are more expensive than
the 1700AT.

If you live in a dorm you can contact your RCC for help in choosing
and Ethernet card - or send e'mail to resnet-help@MIT.EDU.
